Why did you sign up for Different?

I joined Different because I wanted to be part of a space that truly understands and celebrates the lived experiences of leaders from the global majority. Far too often organisations overlook the unique challenges and strengths we bring. Different felt like a place where I am understood, I could be fully myself, while growing alongside others who share similar journeys.

What impact has Different made to you?

It’s been transformative. The programme created space for reflection, honest conversations, and real connection. Hearing from speakers and guests who’ve walked similar paths, who’ve challenged systems, led with courage, and stayed rooted in their identity has been was incredibly powerful. Their stories continue to inspire me, they shifted something in me. It’s helped me challenge some of the internal barriers I didn’t realise I was carrying, and reminded me that I don’t have to lead like everyone else to be effective. I’ve come away with a stronger sense of purpose, more confidence in my voice, and a clearer vision of the kind of leader I want to be.

Why would you recommend joining Different?

Because it’s rare to find a space that’s built for us, by people who understand what it means to lead while navigating systems that weren’t designed with us in mind. Different is more than a programme it’s a community a place to grow, reflect, and be unapologetically yourself.
